London- sorry no cliche title to go with that ;P

well i got to london on saturday.. got thrown into the madrid airport, told to get on this bus (and then i totally freaked out bc i thought the bus was starting to go into the city instead of the other terminal of the airport! start the hyperventilation while i tried to figure out how to say "omg im freakin lost and am going to miss my flight to london-- help!" and then realized we were pulling into the other terminal. way to freak out, teresa) so it was easy figuring my way thru the labrinth that was the barajas airport. it was kinda fun actually = D felt like a grown up lol had to go on different escalators and metros and walking sidewalks lol and the plane ride wasnt bad. got to gatwick alright and customs was supa easy- no one in line in front of me yay! then i went to where the train tix were supposed to be and i had another semi panic attack bc it said it was closed.. so i sat down and tried to weigh my other options. i considered taking a taxi and realized that 1. it would be waaaay too expensive 2. so expensive that, in fact, taxies dont even go out to gatwick.. so that was out. so i started following the arrows to the train anyway and for half a millisecond thought of taking a bus but then realized the train WAS open lol so i bought a ticket and got on the train. ended up at victoria station and got to the cab queue my driver was really nice = ) there was a demonstration somewhere in the city that caused some roads to be closed so it ended up taking about 40 min = 30 pounds (gahhhh!) but hey, at least i was at my hotel.. it was a nice hotel- sorry- bed and breakfast. that first day i just stayed in and.. talked to yall on skype lol then the second day.. i was lame and stayed in again = / and then on monday i ventured out hahha what a loser.. i was like.. its a realllly nice day out. i want to go outside. i want to see if i can find hyde park. and i glanced at this map for like mayyybe 20 seconds and i was like ok. i can do this. but if i dont leave now, i probably wont go out. so i put my coat on and headed out the door. so i went out and started walking. and walking. and after like 45 min i was like... yeah i think i would have at least seen signs or something by now.. imma go home. so i went back and looked at my map and sure enough. when i left i should have gone to the right.. gah! oh well! mm some more boringness.. then it was TUESDAY yay! lol i packed my bags and moved... 10 houses down lolz i got to the door and before i could even ring the bell, george was right there! perrrfect timing! and not 10 min later prof and a student were there-- yay peopleee! not too long later me ruby and alyssa went for a walk around the block. got a cel-- Mobile, excuse me = P and when i got back.. BECA WAS THEREEE!! i ran down stairs.. to find out she was in our room lol so i sprinted upstairs and knocked on the door (hoping she wasnt gonna answer it right away bc o-m-g could nottt breatheee lmao so, thankfully she didnt answer quickly, and when she did i was like BECAAAAAAAhhhhhhhh!!!! mah!!! yay it was happy = ) lolz well. didnt do much the first day, everyone was jet legged..mahahah but we DID go to The Rising Sun and had beers.. blehhsdhfoiah
the next day we had lit class- the prof is hilARious- so cute in that old-man-cutesy way lmao hes so british ... very nice and talks soooo much in a short time he pumps his fist and says stuff like "gung-ho" hahahha then beca and i walked thru chinatown to trafalgar sq (which until we got home thought it was piccadilly circus, silly us) B took tons of photos.. it was fun lol and then we walked to parliament/ big ben the london eye and.. waterloo train station ahhah and then we walked thru soho on our way home.
thursday we had brit seminar in the morning and went to explore brunswick (assignment for class)after lunch. omgggg we thought that the place was gonna be something HISTORICAL and it ended being.. a shopping center lol we must have walked around the area and surrounding blocks for like an hourrrr and right before we leave, we are walking back thru the center, beca looks at the movie theatre area and says "hare and tortoise?" isnt that like what we're supposed to find? the rabbit and turtleeee??? and we're all like. omg. so then we're trying to see if the other 2 things we're supposed to find are in the shopping area too.. so we walk to the center and see a store called apostrophe.. we had been looking for a freakin exclamation point for the clue punctuation markkkk! so we try to find the clues "bathsheer" (???) and "seatle". i thought for suuure the bathsheer thing would be a statue and the other one had to be a store... after circling the inside of the center i was like.. maybe the store "coast" is like seatle, bc its by the coast? but then i thought, maybe seatle bc we can see what looks like the space needle really clear from the shopping area... and then i look at starbucks and go holy crap. really?? starbucks was STARTED in seatle. wasnt it? he sucks. so we are NOT goin home without finding the last clue and we absolutely cannot find it so i tell beca imma take a picture of these cool stair things by the hare and tortoise place..and im walking back to her and look at the movies or whatever that are playing-- the signs almost right over her head.. and one of the titles has "bashir" in it! last clue! and we were like omg! this whole trip out here would have been soooo much easier if we had known we were SUPPOSED to be in a shopping area. we def had a "really?!" moment. hmm.. after we went home and warmed up we went out walking.. with the intent of finding a candystore.. and hours later returned without success = 0!! but it was cool seeing more of soho..meh
today B and colleen and i went and bought tix for paris! the whole group is goin in feb = ) exciting.. then we took colleen over to brunswick.. then we went to kings cross station to get our picture at 9 and 3/4 platform!!! yayayay! and then went over to st. pancras (NOT pancreas!) station.. part of brit sem finding these places... mm and then we took the tube to hyde park area and saw buckingham palace-- we were standing right by the gate watching the guards march around and then one of the other guards (standing really close to the gate) smiled at B and me and waved hahahha it was cute = ) we took pix for awhile and then walked thru hyde park a little.. then we went to H&M!!! bought my first pair of skinny jeans lol and then went to harrod's dept store. omg is that a nice place *jaw drops* of couuuurse didnt buy anything there.. but it was nice to look at all that marc jacobs/valentino/D&G stuff lol.. then we walked thru a little more of hyde park and then on to kensington gardens-- and saw PETER PAN! amazing! we'd been out walking for like 6 hrs by then so we figured it was time to go home.. we went to the tube station and right before we got on we just happened to bump into 4 of the girls from the centre-- woahhh lol and thats it for now... lol
